Playing with Pictures

You know, I thought I was so clever to put my friends' faces on cats, ducks and other critters, or to cut and paste my profile picture into a nice scenic view.  Thought I had done something unique.  Today I got my comeuppance, as they say, when I learned about an exhibit now showing at the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Probably half the world as I know it has already seen it or heard about it, and I'm just now getting to it, and realizing that my photocollages are only unique in that I've used my own photographs.  The idea of doing it has been around as long as there have been photographs -- over a century.  Can you imagine prim-looking Victorian ladies pasting their friends' heads on duck bodies?
